Frequently asked Questions
Our female cattle are vaccinated and get the bangs vaccine according to legal requirements. Our steers are not typically given any antibiotics or medications. If an animal becomes sick, they will be treated appropriately to allow them to heal and recover. Fortunately, with our small heard we have not had much illness and the current crop has not had to receive any medication.
This is a tough question to answer. I have been in the business of raising animals and selling them in different manners since I was a young boy. As for selling beef and timber to the public, this is a recent venture just starting up.
Our animals are fed on locally grown forage from our homestead. The angus cattle have been born and raised on my homestead and only fed a grass and alfalfa mix their entire life. The last few months I supplement there diet with a few gallons of corn and grain to give the beef a better taste and quality. Our animals do not visit a feed lot and are not fed the typical diets but are fed a more traditional diet reminiscent of a homestead. We think this makes a delicious. and healthy beef.
